Oh, how many times have I walked to the bottom of our land and then had to retrace my steps in less than joyous mood due to forgetting a vital piece necessary for the planned work. I feel your pain!
Tools...the same...why do all the tools you need sneak off and hide somewhere? And it’s only the one you need that leaves. Yesterday it was another missing part of the strimmer...maybe I shouldn’t be blaming Mercury.
Oh my goodness, I was quite exhausted after your news this week. What a very frustrating time you have had. Equally though, it did make me laugh out loud. Hang on in there, I’m sure it will all come good in the end. Hope you get everything planted as well. With love, Annie x
Mercury is definitely in retrograde, yesterday Stihl brush cutter effectively gave up the ghost. Only with much cajoling did I manage to complete my task before it died and no amount of twiddling and pulling would bring resuscitation. As for the seventh planet from the sun least said the better.... good luck this week.
Going to complete the brush cutting today, hope I have sufficient 2 stroke oil......waddaya think? There's never any chance of me running the machine constantly at full throttle... need the break. Instinctively shake the fuel mixing bottle; throw back to seeing dad shake the Gold topped milk bottle before i could put the top cream on the cornflakes ! Obviously scarred me and now seared into my memory 😀
I’m still a long way off…it’s been so nice to see all the spring flowers but now I’ve left myself a lot to do! All those plans for getting across the other side of the valley in an easier year are in jeopardy. Let’s see what I can manage this week!
Firstly, it will be when the moon is full...after all if it can create waves on earth then what is it doing to your brain? Secondly, you need goats not sheep but you should borrow them as they can become hectic as pets...
There is someone who rents out her goats around here...but she is highly in demand. Isn’t the issue that they eat absolutely everything? And that would include the new trees and probably our vineyard! Donkeys have been suggested as well (two are less noisy that one we are reliably informed, but that sounds a bit risky to me!). Thanks for your suggestion.
Great Dispatch, now I have excuses for last week and what is (not) going to happen for the rest of the retrograde.
De nada (“you’re welcome” in Portuguese).

All very frustrating Annie! But we battle on and despite it all there’s definitely some progress!
Of course there is Alistair, I don’t doubt you for a minute. Besides it makes for a very entertaining read, which I really look forward to. A x
Hahahaha - my personal favorite was your complete wardrobe change during the barbecuing! Your place is absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to visit!
Surely, Al, there is a Portuguese saying which is roughly translated as ‘From adversity great things emerge’ ?
