I loved this, similar builder problems here in rural Cornwall - we only wanted a shower and he’s been here 9 months finding one issue after another ! Now a tree seems to have happily burrowed its way through the septic tank. Have fun you guys !!!

Love your adventures, so beautifully written, though that isn't a surprise! Despite all the trals and tribulations you face, there is ALWAYS something positive in your stories. You and your wife will look back at all this, one day and won't believe what you endured.... it WILL be worth it❤️

I love the fact that your piece of land is shaped like an heart❤️

Sorry to hear about the car and the builders. I can imagine that the bureaucracy will be quite demanding in Portugal but probably less than in Brazil. Everything here needs a stamp, even the stamp needs a stamp to prove that the original stamp is real and legal! I can understand the frustration. Last week we finally decided to replace two bathroom windows because the termites had nearly eaten through them and we were concerned they would fall out. So we carefully arranged for the builder to remove them the day before the new aluminium windows arrived, that way only one night without windows when creatures could get in the house. The window man arrived two days later than planned. He had measured the windows but now found they didn’t fit but offered to chisel out our concrete window frames to fit them. My frustration and annoyance were …. Anyway, decided that we would better off just to write-off the cost and get our dependable builder to repair the wooden windows that look much better. Just waiting for him to arrive now…so hopefully no more nights listening to hear if anything has crawled into the house!

You sound like a right-good team, you and Ana. All the best with it. The plan sounds terrific.
