We lived in Zimbabwe for a long time and had a Boerbul named Lucy that was similarly vigilant to your Garfie. She was a sweet hardworking soul.
We also have bagpipers here in Rome! Shepherds called Zampognari come down from the mountains of Abruzzo at Christmastime. Sadly, there are fewer and fewer every year.
