Looking for the message "Notification" on my Android phone I lost your query about why I thought you re-released "The Valley of Death" month old episode...
Paul - great to hear from you...and I'll definitely be ordering your book..I think we met briefly at Rocim's Amphora day a couple of years ago...I was recording for a BBC piece and our podcast...which is now being released. I'm six episodes in and I think you'd like episode 4!...
Actually, the Talha Wines that you mention probably originate through the Phoenicians 800 years before the Romans arrived and possibly even earlier with local Tartessian tribes whose wine the Phoenicians exported. If you want to understand the depth of talha culture that nearly went extinct a dozen years ago, read my book: Talha Tales, Portugal's Ancient Answer to Amphora Wine. I've been actively promoting their cause from its revival in 2012. Talha wines are now one of the most exciting, most modern wine styles in the world today. https://www.amazon.com/Talha-Tales-Portugals-Ancient-Amphora/dp/1739195809 or check out my site: www.winedisclosures.com Also, don't miss visiting the villagers opening up their new vintaged talha wines on St Martin's Day, Nov 12. One of the wine worlds undiscovered treasures.
Very interested to read. Good luck with the awards. Maybe worth mentioning that you can buy the book on Amazon.es for delivery in Portugal (and avoid a fortune in shipping in dollars).
Yes, thanks for reminding me of how local Portugues can buy via Spanish Amazon. Although I expect your readers are mostly in USA, and Talha Tales is written in American English and available on all Amazons globally. I wanted the book to reach everywhere easily to help promote this great ‘new’ wine culture.
Liz, thanks for noting that availability. Indeed, Talha Tales is available throughout Amazon’s national sites including France, Germany, Italy, UK and others as far afield as Australia’s. Unfortunately not a Portuguese site. We specifically chose Amazon to publish via because it gave instant access to the book globally as 3 levels of pricing to ensure the whole world could know about this intriguing reversal of the last continuous winemaking culture from ancient times, apart from Georgia’s qvevri production. The shock for me was, when I first tasted these wines 12 years ago, that they weren’t primitive or rustic at all. Indeed they make very accessible wines to modern tastes via a brilliantly refined ancient technology that incorporates a lot of typical modern technological practices. Talha are the world’s most modern wine technology. And anyone can taste them for a couple of euros a glass up to 1000s of euros a bottle. Or drink freshly made wine straight from the pot delivered to your table in a restaurant with superb local produce. All pretty cool stuff that has survived the pressure of externally imposed ‘modern’ industrialized conformity. Forward through the past!
But Spain’s is closest site for Portuguese to buy from, which is where most do. If only I could afford to have it transcribed into Portuguese to help their cause!
Is there some kind overlap between the valley of death and the valley of despair in the Dunning-Kruger curve? That's the one where you realise just how much you don't know after a confident early start (not that I'm suggesting you don't know anything) - either way, the climb out of the valley may be hard but you will see the sun again.
Oh and on ethernet connectors, try pass-through RJ45 connectors where you can double-check that all the cables are in the right order before you crimp them off.

Perhaps it's an Android clean-up thing?
The notification of your "Like" was doubled on my phone. This appears to be another expression of an Android bug!

Kev Mahoney & I think VdE would make a great hub for cycle touring. Would need to map out some routes and maybe provide cycle hire.
Yoga retreat packages are pretty huge right now.... xx

Why the re-release of this month old episode?
That's strange...I haven't published anything new or sent out any re-releases in the last week. Can I ask how you received it please?
